Wildpark Bad Mergentheim

Lynx - Wildlife Park Bad Mergentheim - Germany

Those who have been following me for a while know that my favorite animal park is the one in Bad Mergentheim []. It has changed very little over the last years, so I didn't miss a lot during the Corona lockdown. But as it is now open again, I decided to spend a Saturday morning there.

At the moment you have to buy your tickets online []. In theory, this should speed up admission as they already have your contact data, but in reality, the queue is as long as usual. So it's still a good idea to get there early, especially on a weekend.

You also should check if they have stopped their guided tours due to the number of Corona cases in the area. There are usually two a day and those are the only opportunities to get into the vulture aviary, which is always the highlight for me.

You can find some more background information in this post.

My favorites this time are the lynxes. As always, they have to hunt to get to the food, but of course, you can never predict if they won't climb the tree from behind. This time they are quite photogenic.

But also the wolves and the raccoons are quite cooperative this time:
