Reggio Emilia AV Mediopadana Railway Station

Mediopadana Railway Station - Reggio nell'Emilia - Italy

The Reggio Emilia AV Mediopadana Railway Station is a new building designed by Santiago Calatrava [] and opened in 2013 for the Milan–Bologna high-speed rail line. We’re already familiar with Santiago Calatrava from Santa Cruz , Valencia, and other cities.

The station isn’t exactly a classic tourist destination that would justify a major detour. However, since it’s located right next to the highway, it’s definitely a nice place to stop for a quick break.

There’s more than enough parking, and the free parking time should usually be enough to take some photos. By the way, the parking meter is located to the left at the far end of the bus stop.

As interesting as the building is from the outside, there isn’t much to see inside or out on the tracks.
