Autumn in the Wolfstal near Ulm

tree fungus - Wolfstal - near Lauterach - Germany

Mid of October I visited the Wolfstal for the first time in autumn. My earlier visits had been in Spring especially to see the Spring Snowflake [] and the Scarlet Elf Cup []. This time I wanted to see what it looks like in autumn.

You can find a description of how to get there in the first blog post about that valley, and the recommendation to get there early applies to visits in the fall as well. The most attractive part of the valley is not too long, maybe 1 km, but I spent almost two hours there as you can find new motives around every corner.

I spent most of my time with some beautiful mushrooms growing on a dead tree, which I was able to photograph against the overcast sky to highlight their grills.
