Botanical Garden - Taipei - Taiwan

First published in 2018

It's a rainy morning in Taipei. It's not raining hard, but it's dripping for a few minutes, stops for some time, and starts again. Is that a reason to stay in the hotel or to leave at least the camera there? No, you just have to go for a proper motif.

The Botanical Garden of Taipei has more the character of a park. It has some gates, but you can simply enter without paying a fee or anything else. It's not really huge as well. But it's quite nice with a lot of flowers and trees clustered into different areas.

The good thing about a cloudy sky is that you get very nice, soft light. So you don't have to deal with harsh shadows or disturbing light flares. The exposure might be a little bit longer, but even without a tripod a little bit increased ISO setting can compensate that easily.
The water drops are a little extra. Some people add them with a spray bottle, but here it was all natural.

You can find the Botanical Garden near the MRT Station Xiaonanmen and continue your walk easily to the historic center of Taipei afterward.
